Agreed. Clearing G-List when it's overfilled is used for data recovery. Moving G-List to P-list is used for HDD refurbishing. If you moved g-list to p-list before recovering data you'd end up with a bunch of shift points in the translator and make recovery near impossible.

The third digit doesn't matter. In fact, neither does the fourth. The CB is the only part that counts. Also, it's been observed that on some models the third digit will actually change itself after the drive is powered off/on.

Open the data of the card up in some hex editor and scroll up and down. Do you actually see data? Do you see any plain text you can read anywhere? Do you see all zeros or all the same repeating pattern?

Some phones have the option to encrypt the SD card. So it could be that you're looking at encrypted data.

It's impossible for us to know without more details. Was it spitting out bad sector errors? Are the sectors all reading zeros or FF, there are a million things that could be going on and each case is different.

Doesn't look like you read anywhere close to 97%. More like 10% and that was only at the end of the drive where there's probably no data. The drive probably went offline and ddrescue just kept erroring out from there. Probably is a case better left to professionals with the right equipment.

You have to download the file from the drive after issuing that command using the y-modem protocol. Some terminal programs and PC-3000 can support Y-modem. Other tools such as MRT don't support it.

PC-3000 is the gold standard tool. It can do more than any other tool and usually is the leader in developing new functions. That's not to say DFL isn't any good, I know some guys really like it and it may have a few innovative features, but it's not as well developed as PC-3000

Nope, no way to connect it to a SATA channel that I've ever found. If the SSD is still functional you can image it in a PCIe adapter using ddrescue in Linux, but if it's not being recognized, you're stuck for now. I'm sure eventually Ace will cook up a tool for these, but it's not here yet.

The problem is you're trying to put a PCIe SSD into a SATA connection. But it doesn't have SATA lanes, thus the reason the notch is keyed differently because it's not going to work.

The drive will at the very least have bad sectors, more likely it'll have weak/failed read/write heads. The software isn't the problem, the hardware is the problem. You might consider trying ddrescue to clone the drive to another same/larger size HDD and then see if you can read the clone...

The image will load right in the software. Just select Samsung 470 series, randomly pick a LDR, and it'll pop up with a couple images one of which is just like yours.

So I've got a monolith here which I have the pinout for. PC-3000 recognizes the chip ID as: 0xAD3A1903 however it doesn't know the reading parameters for it. Does anyone have any experience with this chip or know the reading parameters for it?

800066 is the one that's confirmed to work to replace 8000069, so I'd shoot for that. The other one I'm not sure about and haven't tried it, but it does have the same main IC. You'll need to read the ROM code via boot ROM code and then program that to the SATA board to make it compatible...

75GSX and 59GSX are two different families of drive. Maybe the heads are cross compatible, but I highly doubt it. I guess you never know unless you try it.

The first place to check is in the folder labeled Found.000 in the root of the hard drive. It's likely in there as a nameless cnk file. Hopefully, it wasn't fragmented and just be renamed back to a VMDK file. See if any of those files in there look about the right size.

If you've got a 500Gb with 4 heads and a 640Gb with only 3, I'd be willing to bet you're looking at two totally different families of drive. Perhaps you should try posting some relevant details. If you want a meaningful answer you need to provide actual details.
