    PC-3000 for Phones

Unless that thing can automate decrypting a lot of later model phones, I just can't see that it's a worthwhile investment for a smaller lab. I'm sure it'll be good for the bigger labs that are getting in hundreds of phones, but probably not for us one and two tech shops.

Possible to Rebuild Corrupted NVRAM of Hitachi ARM Drive?

My mistake. I didn't carve it out right and had some extra bytes at the beginning. Also, it looks like your original NV-RAM matched copies 3 and 4, so it's copy 1 or 2 you should try. Here's all four copies of the NVRAM from the ROM code: Try using number 1 or 2 (they're the same) and see...

Possible to Rebuild Corrupted NVRAM of Hitachi ARM Drive?

Try writing this NVRAM file to a donor PCB (or even the original PCB) and let me know what happens: Your ROM has four copies of the NVRAM, the first two are the same as each other but copies 3 and 4 are slightly different from 1 and 2 (just 8 bytes different).

    G-List and P-List

Agreed. Clearing G-List when it's overfilled is used for data recovery. Moving G-List to P-list is used for HDD refurbishing. If you moved g-list to p-list before recovering data you'd end up with a bunch of shift points in the translator and make recovery near impossible.

Ask : how r28 save this file and where the folder it save this 28.sys ?

You have to download the file from the drive after issuing that command using the y-modem protocol. Some terminal programs and PC-3000 can support Y-modem. Other tools such as MRT don't support it.

Yes, I've been following Lukes comparison and reviews. I've actually spent a fair amount of time working with MRT remotely for other guys who have the system and have needed remote support from someone more experienced. It's definitely a tool with potential. It's a far cry from seriously...

    WD5000LMVW-11VEDS0 Donor cross compatibility

Yes, as PCLab pointed out, there are many drives within a same family that can be used as donors and even some families that can be crossed with other families. Just be sure that the TJ in the DCM code matches and look for a close date within the same (or a compatible) family.

New 4.70 firmware and DRE available

From a legal standpoint, the licensing of R-Studio only allows doing recoveries for pay if you have the Technician's License. Otherwise, you're technically supposed to only use it for personal or inter-company recoveries. It's not something they're able to enforce, and I'm sure that hundreds...

New 4.70 firmware and DRE available

If you have the network addon for DDI 4 then R-Studio can directly interface with it and you can scan a bad sector drive in R-Studio just as if it was a healthy drive connected to the computer (since DDI will be doing all the bad sector skipping and whatnot). It's handy when you want to just...

Yeah, it's embedded in the main IC then. So you'll either need to read it via boot ROM code as Luke suggested, or you'd need to rebuild the ROM from the SA.

That PCB looks really badly heat damaged. First I'd check the contacts to the preamp to be sure it's not just bad corrosion on the contacts. Then I'd try replacing the PCB with another along with transferring the ROM.

How to Put iPhone/iPad in DFU Mode?

I'll allow the above post only because the article is somewhat informative, and it's not a company that's been banned yet for misleading SPAM (such as how Jihosoft was banned here).

WD USB to SATA Conversion Compatible PCB Guide

800066 is the one that's confirmed to work to replace 8000069, so I'd shoot for that. The other one I'm not sure about and haven't tried it, but it does have the same main IC. You'll need to read the ROM code via boot ROM code and then program that to the SATA board to make it compatible...

    What is Data Recovery?

SPAM isn't totally prohibited here if you want to make a meaningful contribution to this forum. But, just random SPAM dumps like this, which contain no meaningful information, won't be tolerated.

    Seagate ST2000MD001 2tb hdd shows 3.86gb

It has nothing to do with "working for free" as you say, they can't tell you because it requires professional data recovery equipment costing tens of thousands of dollars to even properly diagnose such situations. Yes, if you had data recovery equipment such as PC-3000 and the likes so I could...

    WD5000AAKX-00U6AA0 Donor cross compatibility

Scratch that, I just checked and that one's missing. I must have used it for a donor and forgot to remove from my inventory list. But I do have the one on eBay.

    WD5000AAKX-00U6AA0 Donor cross compatibility

I've got three of them that are probably close enough matches. One is listed here on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WD5000AAKX-75U ... SwsBtaPBJS The other two aren't listed on ebay yet, but they're both very similar and one has a close date (from July 2012). Let me know if you're interested...

    Particle Counters

Actually, Larry, my meter was reading 1200 so I guess that's 120,000 particles per cu/ft of air in the open office space. But, that's reading in a carpeted room with acoustic ceiling tiles. I think the ceiling tiles are probably the biggest source of contamination. But, after my clean hood...

    Help for Seagate head swap

We've expounded a lot more on it in the secrets section, including how to find it without needing PC-3000 to first edit the head map.

    Particle Counters

In unfiltered air in my office it's reading 1200 particles, not 1200 thousand.

    Help for Seagate head swap

For most drives, we now have the ability to read the Preamp directly out of the ROM code. I shared that trick in the secrets section of this forum, so anyone with access to that section can now help with that.

Rosewood ST1000LM035, Capacity 0, Sys 28 file damaged

If you tried the usual translator regen without a backup on a Rosewood, it's probably game over for now. You can't apply the same old Seagate tricks to these.

    Rosewood ST2000LM007 LED:0x000000BD FAddr:0x00009062

Yeah, and the translator regeneration was probably unnecessary too. You've got to be careful with that, a lot of these drives have NRG entries.

    Monolith Pinout Needed

It's a hardware problem with the reader itself. It's recognized by the computer, but not by the software. They checked it and confirmed that it was the reader itself that died and they want around $800 to fix/replace it. The problem actually started (and I emailed them about it) to happen...

    Monolith Pinout Needed

IMHO Rusolut are the most unhelpful worthless people in this industry. They won't even honor their own warranty and made up a dozen or more excuses why they wouln't (many of which conflicted with what they told me in emails & PMs before I bought it). Not a company I want the aggravation of...

    M.2 Data Recovery

Not all SSDs use encryption, though most newer ones are heading that way. Many older ones have been successfully done via chip-off. DDI is little more than an imaging tool, even for the PCIe based SSDs. So it's not going to help in cases where the firmware is at fault. We've got to wait for...

    Help for Seagate head swap

Ideally, you'd match the part number (up to the hyphen), the first three digits of the serial number, and as close of a date code as possible (within 120-160 numbers maximum difference). That'll usually get you a correct donor. But, you'd still need to check the preamp by pressing Ctrl + L in...

    Donor Head Matching

75GSX and 59GSX are two different families of drive. Maybe the heads are cross compatible, but I highly doubt it. I guess you never know unless you try it.

CHeckDisk deleted vmdk files from my disk after a stopped scan. What can I do to recover they?

The first place to check is in the folder labeled Found.000 in the root of the hard drive. It's likely in there as a nameless cnk file. Hopefully, it wasn't fragmented and just be renamed back to a VMDK file. See if any of those files in there look about the right size.

    HFS Encryption encryptedboot.plist.wipekey missing

I might be possible to scan for the lost file if there's any sort of unique signature in the file's data. Perhaps it'd be worth checking out a good file of that type.

Not really. I haven't really found much, or needed to either. I don't get a whole lot of Samsung drives coming in here typicially.

    Donor Head Matching

If you've got a 500Gb with 4 heads and a 640Gb with only 3, I'd be willing to bet you're looking at two totally different families of drive. Perhaps you should try posting some relevant details. If you want a meaningful answer you need to provide actual details.
