. Only reason I suspect not is that it acts differently depending on what ROM version I'm using. I really think it'd click no matter what ROM if the heads were totally bad. Perhaps it's only partially failed heads, hard to say.
For now, I've just quoted assuming the likely possibility of needing to replace heads and rebuild/find compatible ROM. Waiting to hear back from client. Can't waste any more time on an evaluation.
