Winter Plumbing Problems

Every winter I tell myself I’ll be more prepared, and then something still goes sideways. Last year a section of pipe in our laundry room almost froze during that cold snap, and the water pressure went weird for days after. I’m curious what kinds of plumbing problems tend to show up most around Campbell River once temperatures drop. Is it usually frozen pipes, water heaters acting up, or something else people keep running into every year?

From what I’ve dealt with, winter really exposes weak spots in a house. Frozen or partially frozen pipes are a big one, especially in garages or crawl spaces that aren’t well insulated. We also had a water heater fail right after a cold stretch, probably from working overtime. I started checking local service lists like Plumbers in Campbell River, BC before winter hits, just to know who’s available if something breaks. Even small prep steps, like insulating pipes, saved us trouble.
