WD Passports That Aren't Encrypted

I just got in yet another WD Passport drive that isn't encrypted. WD10TMVW-11ZSMS0

PC-3000 found an encryption key (which scrambled the data when I tried to use it to decrypt). Turns out it wasn't encrypted.

This is about the third one like this that I've seen one that never got encrypted. Anyone else seeing this? I know Luke got one too a while back. I'm wondering if it's by design, or just a batch with a FW bug preventing it from being enabled.

I think all Elements are unencrypted, as are Passports sold to countries that prohibit encryption, e.g., some European countries, although I don't know which.

Hello

Element drives are not encrypted, for exemple in Russia all passports are not encrypted because encryption seems to be prohibited there.
(Read that on another forum from a Russia user)
