I have a drive ST500DM002 with KC47 FW. It gets ready when powered on almost immediately without any unusual noise but its not ID'ed at all and it doesn't spin down. In Terminal it gives the following reading. I was wondering if someone can shade some light on it....

Thanks

Then the $Bitmap of media cache is bad and needs to be cleared.

Thanks for the reply hddguy,

how do i do that? The Media Cache I can disable from "Edit HDD ID" but i'm a little lost on how to "clear" it.

Willing to share how you cleared the $Bitmap? I can't say I've ever dealt with this issue before.

Was it just another matter of shorting the read channel at the right time?
