Hi

Got this drive today, that is only recognized as 3,86GB.
I can't get into terminal (should be locked by HP, right?)
I have tried to short the read channel but can't get it to go to terminal.
The PCB is a 100475720.
I have one doubt on this: when shorting, I must keep the short continuously or only do a small short?
Thanks

This is ES.2. You should short it during calibration - at terminal window keep 'CTRL+Z' pressed as you power on, you will see a short window of time in which T> is possible. This is your time to short, usually during calibration.

Once calibrated and SMART is cleared, repower it and it should be possible to reach T> by simply 'spamming' the terminal window as soon as you power on.

Alternatively, read ROM and write RAP CAP SAP IAP parameters (maybe not all are present on ES.2, but select all that are) and write to PCB/ROM of a non ES2 variant of this model - ST3250210AS maybe? Then you will not have blocked terminal to make repairs.

Hi again

Tried to CTRL+Z without stopping from start, and could never saw the T>...
Read the ROM and wrote it on another PCB (PCB is dead now, I think....) I used DFL to read and write.... PC3K is at my lab...
Shorting, not successful until now.
Damn HP FW....

These are the sounds the HDD makes.
When it's NOT shorted and when I try to short.
When it finishes, it goes RDY.
