My Passport 2TB Strange Case...

It's interesting there are some differences from the one you read from the SATA board and the one you read from the USB board. Only a few bytes, but still very strange. Unfortunately, this family doesn't store a copy of ROM in the SA either. Might have to try using a similar ROM from a different drive and import the ROM modules from this one.

Do you remember what the ROM revision was from when it was on the USB PCB?

Have you tried physically moving the ROM chip from patient to donor?

He said above that he did, and it was the same result. That's why I'm leaning toward just needing a different revision PCB.

Well this is what happened;
Jol requested for ROM read from Patient's USB PCB, ROM read from SATA PCB and a picture of the HDD sticker. Then he provided me with 3 different ROMs and one of the ROMs did the magic.
I was amazed and was just planning to send the Drive back to client, as a dead case.

...He says he rebuilt the ROM, that Original ROM was corrupted and all he did was rebuilt the ROM modules.
