Is it worth buying a townhouse in Dubai?

I'm thinking about buying my own property in Dubai. A few of my clients moved there and they're completely blown away by the quality of life. But I'm guessing a villa or a penthouse with a pool would cost a fortune, that's not something I could swing. A townhouse seems like it'd be cheaper though.
