I had the same requirement while moving Outlook mailbox data into an MBOX-supported client. The main thing is to avoid manual tricks because PST and MBOX store mailbox data differently. Manual conversion can easily break folder order, attachments, or email metadata.
In my case, I tested Softaken PST to MBOX Converter on a Windows system, and it worked well for exporting Outlook PST emails into MBOX format. What I liked was the preview option before conversion, so it was easy to check folders and emails before saving the final MBOX file. It also kept attachments, folder hierarchy, and email fields like To, Cc, Bcc, From, and Sent details properly.
