How do I transfer files from Google Drive to FTP?

I’ve gathered a large number of files in my Google Drive account, but I need to move a subset of them to a remote FTP server for storage and sharing. Doing it manually — downloading from Drive to my Mac, then uploading to FTP — takes too much time and is error-prone when there are many files. I’d like a solution that lets me manage Google Drive and FTP side by side, so I can drag and drop between them without extra downloads.

There is a tool that can help: CloudMounter lets you mount both Google Drive and an FTP server as virtual drives on your computer. The instructions here in the middle of the page ftp to google drive explain how to connect your Google Drive account and FTP in one interface so that both storages appear like regular drives. Once mounted, you can copy or move files directly from your Google Drive to the FTP server just like moving between normal folders.

That would be a big improvement. If I can treat Google Drive and the FTP server as local drives, I can organise, transfer and back up files much more efficiently. I’ll try setting up CloudMounter and run the first transfer to test how stable it is.
