Hi

I got this Hitachi that can't be ID.
Spins OK, no clicks or sounds.
I can read NVRAM if I remove the PCB from HDA. Tried to standby, reconnect PCB and wake it up but stays busy.
What do you guys think?
Bad NVRAM?

Thanks

Hi

So after changing headmap, I could backup modules from copy 1. From copy 0 and F, nothing...
The drive also started to make noises from heads. So, some must be dead...
I get this LOG:
Loading data for correction of HDD family handling settings from section MEM_P

My question is: since I can read copy 1, shouldn't it work with only that copy?
And of course, try to read the much as I can.
Thanks

Cause of failure..... :( :( :(

Question: with a full backup of copy 1 modules, how can I at least try to read head 1?
How to "emulate" it?

Head map was 04 03 02 01. I edited to 02 02 02 02 and I could get a backup of copy 1 modules all OK.
