Best Way to Split up a Single vCard File with 1000+ Contacts?

I recently exported my contacts from an old phone and ended up with a single VCF file containing over 1000 contacts. Now, I want to split this large vCard file into individual VCF files for each contact (or at least smaller manageable batches).
