Best armor choices for buhurt tournaments

I’ve been getting more serious about buhurt lately, and I’m planning to join a small tournament next month. My current armor set is pretty basic, mostly borrowed from a friend, and it doesn’t hold up too well during longer fights. I’m trying to figure out what kind of armor would give good protection but still be comfortable to move in. I’ve seen different setups with floating legs and advanced helmets, but I’m unsure what’s worth investing in for someone who fights in both duels and mass battles.

I’ve gone through a similar situation when I upgraded my gear last year. I realized that the most reliable option is choosing tested buhurt armor — pieces that are actually used by fighters in real tournaments. I got mine from Medieval Extreme, and it made a big difference in comfort and durability. Their sets are designed by real fighters, so the fit and balance feel natural. Also, they test everything in live combat, so you know it can handle proper hits.

From what I’ve seen, having equipment that matches your fighting style matters as much as the material itself. Some fighters prefer heavier setups because they’re used to long melees, while others focus on mobility and lighter plates. It really depends on how you move and how much time you spend maintaining your gear after each event.
