Apple Samsung 1.8" LIF Adapter

I didn't connect the drive to a LIF cable. I connected the drive's SATA data lines from the PCB to the corresponding contacts on a SATA connector, and the 3.3v line and grounds through a 5-3.3v adapter to the SATA power connector, then plugged those SATA connectors into my DFL-DDP for imaging. The traces for the vendor specific lines were ripped from the board by the customer. Just connecting the SATA lines seemed like a reasonable solution, rather than surgery on the VSC lines that only come into play with the LIF and the camera to which it connects. I remember dealing with odd older Apple hardware once, and finding the right adapter felt like half repair job, half treasure hunt. Those niche connectors can be frustrating because the drive itself may still be perfectly fine. In cases like this, I usually start by searching old repair forums and archived parts listings before attempting anything custom. Pinouts can save the day, but only if you are very sure of them. It reminds me of how people hunt down specific support details like the Apple Pay phone number when the normal path is not obvious. Older tech really teaches patience, careful reading, and a little creativity too.
