3D Xpoint memory: Faster-than-flash storage unveiled

Interesting for sure. There is a lot of technology acronyms getting thrown around at the moment - all with a common set of themes.. unreliable manufacturing / too expensive to produce compared to NAND / Too expensive to build the factories / performance is not a "deal breaker" and the tech instead is seen as complementary to the existing RAM or NAND, not a replacement.

funny! :
Last week, IBM announced that it had found ways to reliably produce chips that had 7nm components.

However, it said, these techniques had so far only been shown to work in the laboratory and not in large-scale chip fabrication plants

yeah its reliable.. well.. not really :)

I don't think we will have many years to wait until something truly incredible is revealed in relation to storage.
