Hello

have you ever experienced about those values for heads compatibility?

I mean instead of Micro Jogs?

Thank you

I haven't ever really paid it much attention. But, I've also never paid much attention to micro jogs and pretty much always find a working donor on the first try.

My method is simple. Completely ignore the model number. Just look for a drive of the same family and of the max capacity for that particular family (better to have more heads than less). Match the critical part of the DCM (e.g. TJ, T2, etc.) and go with the closest date you can find and preferably get one from the same country. Works perfectly in 95% of cases.

Hello Jared

I know WD pretty well, I mean those from 2009 on

I agree with you, I do the same

I have either a simpler approach, same board, same sticker or stamp on/for the spindle and obviously a matching head map or with more heads.

About close date, well I would say, yes, it is better but!! ... I have seen things "that you human beings" have never seen :)

But sometime these tests are good, I mean for that 5% that don't work :)
