WDC WD5000AZLX-21K2TA0

Dear friends and seniors,
here i got above mentioned hdd.When i start it with pc3k utility it shows id but unable to find family.I use trailxls and able to access sa area.it shows mod32 both copy err. Mod148 both copy problem.I tried mod search from sa area and found original mod32.I check checksum its ok so i write it ot disk mod 0but my problem is still no data area accesss.mod 148 is also bad in sa image mod 148 found but red color even though checksum and marwell check ok.do this mod i can write from trail xls or some other family ?

Can you post module C5? From there should be able to tell the family.

Also, I'd take a backup of all the SA tracks before writing any modules to the drive. That way you can put it back if something does get tweaked from working on it with the wrong family utility.

If unable to find the family you start by checking the ROM, unless its a new drive and still not supported, then C5 like Jared said ^^

I think these are pretty new, can't seem to find much of anything about this drive posted anywhere.

Still can't understand why would mod 32 & 148 prevent accessing user data

Sorry for late reply but i want to share one thing that unbelievable experience for this forum.Actually i have just seen your posts and before that i got the solution.As i have myself decided to get it as trailxlb because in my profile database i have seen WDC WD5000AZRX-00A3KB0 in trailxlb,so i match AZ and go for it .I got the donor from my customer in evening by 3.00pm indian time.I use both mod from it and drive data area is accessible.It has bad sectors in starting so mft area is very much affected but by chance customer has backuped in second partition and i get data from that.its one day before.he has account info in it but he says its ok.But dear friends actually i never have this much fast reply from any forum so in that confidence i even not try to open this forum and check for reply.Jol and jered you both reply its early morning 3.00am and 7.00am in india.But i really apprciate this kind of approach i never ever seen before.Thanks again.And about modC5 i have checked its like this.

Datasolution ,
This family is now supported in new update ,What version of pc3k are you using .The Family code here is A3K .
