Changed File System

I was going to install a new OS to dual boot (artix linux to go alongside Windows 7) and accidentally chose the wrong drive. I didn't totally install Artix but I did partition the drive, change the file system, and created and mounted 2 directories.

The trouble I've been having is that data recovery tools are reading most of the drive as FAT instead of NTFS. Are there any where I can manually tell the tool to read the files as NTFS? I'm inclined to go back and delete the partitions I made and/or change the file system to NTFS, but don't want to do any unnecessary writing.

If it matters, I can use artix linux and windows tools. I'm only really worried about recovering a KeePass file.

Thanks!
