Hi folks. I'm looking for some expert help.
A long time ago (over 10 years ago) I had an WD external harddrive filled with important files, i decided to secure the files with the software that came with the harddrive, during the encryption the harddrive "crashed" and I had to restart the encryption. Some of the files were already encrypted, but with a strange file-extension, .ave extension. None of the other files had this extension, the other files were fine, but these .ave files simply wouldn't open. The files still show size and name, but they're simply impossible to open.. Anyone else experience this? I have no clue what happened to these files or why they have this strange file extension, but i'm hoping you guys know.
