Dolphin Data Labs now selling USB to SATA PCB Kit!

I just noticed on Dophin's website that they are now selling a kit of SATA PCB's compatable with the USB My Passport varients: http://www.dolphindatalab.com/product/w ... b-package/


I'd love to see some other kits, such as an entire WD Marvel or F3 family set. Perhaps they'll get to that next. I actually suggested this idea to Donor Drives but they didn't respond.

They mention 10 USB PCB numbers, so I assume that's the number of SATA PCBs included:

Western Digital USB-SATA PCB Package contains all the compatible SATA PCBs for the most common USB PCBs including USB PCB 701635, 701675, 771737, 771754, 771761, 771801, 771814, 771817, 771859, 771961.

The matching SATA board numbers are probably those listed in the ACE list, which Jared already posted here I think, i.e.,

:USB -> SATA
701605 - 701499
701615 - 701499
701635 - 701572
701650 - 701499
701675 - 701672
771737 - 701692 or 771692
771754 - 701692
771761 - 771692
771801 - 771823
771814 - 771820
771859 - 771852

At $159USD, that's a fair price per board ($15.90) if you don't have a set already.

I know you are supposed to match the MCU and motor controller ICs and that Brian has mentioned a few in this post. There are others mentioned in that thread, too, IIRC.

Dolphin Make a Lot Of Money .They Are Selling The Tl866CS Programmer For 2 Times Expensive.I Am Willing To Compile a Kit but i Could Only Sell In India ,Provided We Come To a Decision That Exactly is Required .My China Rep Office In shenzen Could Send This To Other Placed BTW .So Lets Come To a Decision Whats The Final Number Of Boards Required .

Today i recovered drive WD5000KMVV-11BG7S0 (Shasta 3D family) with bad usb pcb 701675-004.
I swapped successfully with donor sata 771672-004 so you can add in the list that 701675 is compatible also with 771672.
