What is Nglist?

It's the non-resident G-List. It's like a G-lists (grown defects list) but it's generated at the factory and does affect sector translation shifts in the LBAs. So unlike the G-list which can be safely cleared, the NRG will shift the logical and physical sector translation if it's cleared. It's something you've got to be super careful about if you're going to do any m commnds to rebuild translator.

I think in newer seagate drive should clear NRG first if we want to rebuild translator, yes ?

No, you need to back it up, then regenerate translator, then put it back.

If you clear it you'll really botch the sector translation up.
