So which detail of donor drive should be exact the same as failure drive?

Try to also check for Preamp.

All the rest that you wrote is also valid.

Ideally, you'd match the part number (up to the hyphen), the first three digits of the serial number, and as close of a date code as possible (within 120-160 numbers maximum difference). That'll usually get you a correct donor.

But, you'd still need to check the preamp by pressing Ctrl + L in terminal to see if they're the same.

If you can't check the preamp, you have to follow the other options.
The more details you match, the better to have a working donor.

There is always the chance with Seagate that the labels match and preamp is still different. You can't get a better match than this and look at preamps in green

For most drives, we now have the ability to read the Preamp directly out of the ROM code. I shared that trick in the secrets section of this forum, so anyone with access to that section can now help with that.
