ST2000VX000 heads

I have a ton of DM donors in house right now so I REALLY don't want to order a VX drive to replace head 2. I have everything imaged except for that head. Anyone know if I can use DM heads on a VX drive? If not I'll order the dumb donor, but otherwise I'd love to use the stock that I have.

I think I tired it once, and they didn't work, but I think that was a lost cause case too...

If you put the patient PCB onto the donor drive, does it keep spinning? That's a good way to check.

If the first 3 numbers of the serial number match, it should work.

I have used DM heads for a ST2000VX000 (SV35). The SV35 was a 3 platter drive. I use heads from an ST3000DM. Preamps were B4-43 vs B4-23. Serials were W24 vs W1F. When you can read the preamp from the patient it makes it much easier to find a donor you might not normally try.
