Is there a scsi linux or other tool to fix the glist?

I have the srt software - but for sas seagate. - it works.... but not for toshiba.

thanks

Have you physically inspected inside the drive to see the heads/platters? Often SAS drives will sound normal but in fact are catastrophically destroyed inside.

yes. I have done a lot of these.

Usually they combust in a blaze of glory.

15k rpm, 2.5 inch platters... run hot as hell.

the bearings wear out,

as long as they are spinning they keep working.

but once you turn them off you cant restart them - too much wobble.

The gyroscope keeps them smooth - till they power down....

I left one powered on the desk without a fan once,

hours later I grabbed it and scorched my hand.

In that case the only tool I know of is PC-3000 for SAS (I'm assuming it can clear the glist) but it's a lot of money to dish out for a system you'll rarely ever use. It'd still make a great imaging tool I suppose, I think it's even faster than the Express card is.
