HDD Surgery Head Holder

I use a "third hand," but it's not perfect. Rotating/tilting the heads and getting the lighting just right is a constant challenge, as is getting a clear view of the sliders when those above/below get in the way. 300 Euros for that HDDSurgery tool? That's what I would call gouging.

Hi to all,

The Head Holder and Head Holder + are developed for the data recovery companies which have a need for frequent head inspection (20-30 heads per day). These tools are designed to enable the data recovery specialist to safely inspect the heads under any type of a microscope. They give the possibility of various positional adjustments, while keeping the hands of the specialist free, eliminating downsides like hand tremors and other similar effects.

The Head Holder Assembly (which carries the heads) grants safety and simplicity of the usage for the engineer. There is a magnet which prevents heads from sliding off the horizontal post and allows easy rotation of the heads at the same time. If needed, there is a possibility to tighten the assembly additionally with the nut and prevent any rotation during the inspection procedures.

Head Holder + has an additional base and Head Holder Assembly.

I cant really understand spending so much significant money for a service like this https://www.data-medics.com/cost-of-data-recovery/

when you can find even better and cheaper solution here [glow=red]Links Removed by Admin[/glow]
I know for a fact they have all hddsurgery tools, and for them there is no difference between client or head crash, or head on ramp or no...
I can understand you guys see something expencive, but i do not see you spit of Ferari?

If you do not like the tools, do not buy it. If you do not like the prices do not buy it.
If you like copies bye them. If you want to try them come and visit us, we will shot you how they work. I am sure once you use them you will never work with out them...
It is up to you, but please do not comment what you do not know.
Last 15 years I have been changing heads, we make them for us.
One more thing to my Indian friend, I would suggest you to give up on Bolivud carrier there are much better looking girls there.
Seems to me you are non stop on every forum, fighting with windmills. Try working a bit, it will help you make money buy more good tools.

I'm not saying their tools aren't any good or don't work. I personally don't use them because I have my own solutions that work just fine and didn't cost anywhere near that much.

As to this latest tool, I just can't see the need to spend hundreds of dollars on something that's little more than a third hand holding tool.

Just FYI I've had this debate about pricing plenty of times with the guys at HDDSurgery tools. We'll probably never see eye to eye about it.

Oh and @helpdisc keep in mind that this is my forum. I respect others right to express their opinions here, and I allow quite a bit of people disagreeing even with me (notice I approved your post even though you were condemning me). But, I certainly won't be told I can't post my opinion about a product on my own website. I allow HDDSurgery to post about their products here even though I don't use them and think they are overpriced. My opinion however isn't for sale and I'll express it freely here.

And I can't understand what different does it make if the drives was plugged to a win system or Linux/Mac, when it comes to electronics failure, motor failure, or FW failure
does it mean anything ? No !

Ye, I know it too
Because they are the manufacture of hddsurgery's tools, I doubt very much, if they weren't the manufacture of the tools, if they would have buy it, (judging by the average wage in serbia)

I own HDD Surgery ramp tools for Seagate so I do know those tools. I also know that I haven't needed to buy any other HDD Surgery tools to complete my work.
Are they impressive, high quality, tools that one can be proud of? Yes.
Once I used them did I need to buy more so we could work on more than one Seagate head case at a time? No
Did I buy another brand? Yes

HDD Surgery makes great tools but I don't see any reason to get upset because some of the people on this forum are discussing if it's practical and/or necessary to spend that kind of money on HDD tools. That's kind of the whole point of a forum like this.
