Seagate 5400.6 headswap

Hi friends,,

I have Seagate ST9160314AS clicking and then spin down
So , the head is dead probably!
I have a donor for this one, but I need your suggistion about the compatibility

Patient HDD

Mdl:ST9160314AS

Donor HDD

Mdl:ST9250315AS

I didn't open it yet, Im waiting get permission form the client to open it

I'd say it's around a 40-50% chance that it'll be compatible. Hard to say though. I rarely cross Seagate drives of different capacities personally.

firstly I'll look up at donor HDD with the same size.
If I didnt find, Ill use this one.

I think my suspicion is more about the 314AS vs 315AS than it is about the capacity. I'm quite certain they'll have the same head map, but might be different preamp or sliders.
