I know we were all looking forward to sharks with freaking laser beams (or at least Barracudas with laser beams - Auston Powers reference) E.G. HAMR drives, but perhaps they'll be using microwave beams instead.
I can just imagine this future conversation:
Tech: Your hard drive has failed due to a faulty microwave
Customer: Microwave?!?! It wasn't anywhere near my microwave!
Tech: No, the microwave is inside your HDD.
Customer: What?! Why so it can heat up its lunch?
Tech: I give up.
