Hi all,

I have a problem with my Seagate, 2TB slim...

while copying dome data, it suddenly stops to work... plugged, unplugged, restarted and nothing.... it spins and nothing shows up in the PC.....

I decided to tear the HD a part and surprise surprise, the read/write head does not move....

Please look at the video in this link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/LD38GQYIUjdwMOpb2

on a side note, the disk seems to have "sectors"... is that normal???

Many thanks all

Those aren't "sectors" or normal. Those rings are scratches right through the substrate of the platters. The actuator not moving is likely due to the fact that the heads are mangled and didn't land propely back onto the ramp. But, it doesn't much matter now.

I'm afraid that drive is now beyond any hope of recovery. :(
