How to find a donor for this one??

Hey Guys

Got a pickle here....

I have this WD that needs heads. The problem is that the HDD was already refurbished by WD official, so I'm not really sure how to trust in the label to find a donor....
What do you suggest?

I'd just go off the label as normal. I doubt that the factory refurbish was a total internal rebuild. More likely was just trimming out some bad tracks, maybe clipping a head and decrease capacity at the most. I think half the time the factory refurbs were just store returns that were later wiped and re-tested and found to be perfectly good after all.

I agree but in addition you should make sure 1) the donor spins with the patient PCB and 2) the donor slider topography matches the patient
