Change Model and Serial number

A client brought a Toshiba MK6465GSX FW: GJ003M which was installed in a Vehicle diagnostics device. After imaging the drive with few bad sectors we we installed the imaged drive in the device but the app is asking for the Serial number and Model of the failed drive. We used a Fujitsu drive for imaging and so we weren't able to change the Model number. I know it can be done using HDD ID Edit. my question is should we use a similar Toshiba HDD or any drive can be changed to the original Serial and Model number. Is there any thread that explains how to go about it?

I recently work on a IDE Toshiba drive from a vehicle, we cloned it to a similar but not identical IDE Toshiba, then adjusted ID to correlate with the original. This worked well for the client. Not sure if this is helpful to you.
