Hey guys

Today I bought a new drive. I asked for a Hitachi, the guy gave it to me and looked very WD'ish.

Took it to lab, power on PC3K and it didn't know what was it ehehehhe.
Selected WD and there it goes: a normal WD, with normal WD modules, tracks, etc, etc hehehehe

So, no you don't buy Hitachi, you buy WD.

Dang! I was really hoping with WD's acquisition of HGST they would be selling HGST drives branded as WD, not the other way around.

Though, I suppose this is better for the data recovery industry.

I don't have the links but I did see an Hitachi badged WD last week. If I can find the link, I'll post it.

Nuno, how was the price compared to a WD Black 500GB drive? I've been buying Toshiba 2.5" drives for a great price, when I can get them. No complaints.

This was the cheapest they had. Cheaper than Toshiba and of course, cheaper than original WD.
