Probably a stupid question, but I try anyway. What type of screwdriver is needed too open the screws that are on the "plate lock". I tested with torx6-8 some screws getting good while some getting damage / round. It looks like torx in my eyes. This is a WD30EZRX-00MMMB0

Hello. I got a case where the customer accidentally did a quick formatting on the hard drive .. unfortunately the drive is encrypted with bitlocker. Is there any hope of getting some of the data back or all is lost

In order for the drive to be able to have 3TB of capacity, it must have 6 heads. With one head off, the drive would have to be downgraded to a smaller capacity.

I'm not sure how to read the head map, but I'm right that both of drives have the same pre amp and head map (01 02 03 04 05)

Hello. Once you have run disk image on a hard drive for the customer and it has got all file information but some / more files are corrupt due to a sector error. Do you sort out those files before you create a snap2html for the customer?

Hehe yes thats also a good idea. its what I have done when learning MacBook motherboard repair (saved the logic board that I culden fix for later repair) I know platter swap is the last thing you want too do.
