does anyone know what does the HDDsc tool even show as the final result and which one should show the rescued sector count/data amount? ddresc probably showed this on a separate line, although how did it even manage to read that if/and why windows was not able to read it ???

i havent tested these apps yet, but would it be possible to clone just 1 partition to another bigger drive also(which would also have only 1 partition)?

so now i tried this a bit and immediately noticed probably the same exact stuff that i was trying to ask about... there is no need to install hwinfo, because i got most of the very useful info with these commands: lsblk -f sudo fdisk -l and if i want to get a direct copy from disk to disk...

well, i should probably initialize the disk as Mbr first, not Gpt? (it's 512gb) and then maybe create the partitions via the installation wizards only, because windows 7 will add it's own 2 boot partitions or smth and then they will be in good order also? but the main issue is probably that...

well, i probably found out that it actually had a faulty power cable also, but after i now tried to run "chkdsk /r" command, it actually turned it into quite unusable drive, because it now only gives a cyclic redundancy check error and the whole drive is "unallocated"? exactly like this...

i cant really remember how ddrescue ended(i might have even ended it myself to save it from damage), but the only data that i saw from the scanned image was from 2009-2012 or something... and nothing from 2015 or 2016... but i also have a short mapfile of the ddrescue scan, so it should have...

hi this looks interesting, but how long does it take to clone a 1TB drive? my log file is already 40MB, but it keeps doing something in a loop without giving any numbers for the "rescued" or "current rate" sections, so i'm not sure what to do next...
