Hi Guys

I have this Plextor SSD that is well ID, but no access to UA (stays busy).
This controller is not supported yet by PC3K.

Platter swap tool

I have it too and think it's excellent. Clean, precisely manufactured, and non-magnetic. But it's not a "platter swap tool". It's more of a temporary platter repository. I use it mostly for holding and cleaning platters on multiple-platter drives. As Luke stated, the "extractor"...

Platter swap tool

Hey guys

Do you know these ones?

They claim the platter stucks to the tool with some kind of "traceless tape".
What do you think?

Case of logical recovery

Hi Guys Today I want to share with you a case that I'm working on. Got a 2,5" WD drive that I could image but with some bad zones (bad sectors). The initial part of the HDD could not be read though. After the image, I passed several recovery software (R-Studio, UFS and Reclaime) and they all co...

Help. Platter full of fingerprints, is there hope?

Usually if heads are killed, that means media damage, and if that happens, there's no chance of recovery.
See a case I checked today. This is not possible anywhere (maybe the aliens can, who knows...)

Help. Platter full of fingerprints, is there hope?

Unfortunately that is why we say that is not recoverable (for the prices that the "ordinary" client wants to pay).

We cannot be spending 2, 3 or more donors + time, for the same price of a case that only needs 1 donor and getting 20% or 30% of the data (or maybe nothing)...
