Good Software or Hardware Tool For Field Acquisition

As an intermediate backup/restore person, as a beginner data recovery [first response level] person, I am interested in learning more about forensic imaging. Obviously FI is different, more complicated, than full imaging with Macrium Reflect or Imaging for Windows, correct? I'd like to learn more fr...

Is there a Data Recovery software that look for the desktop only?

If the HD has no physical failure, if the HD has no "logical" failure, if all you did was delete several important files, and, if you did not , prior to or after posting this thread " try everything known to man", all you need to do is usb or dvd boot MiniTool Power Data Recovery...

DR specialists weigh-in wanted!

I posted this snippit, I'm asking for input from DR specialists to help me understand the whats and whys of an end-user doing the thing right before shipping HD to a DR company. Long story short: -- during a crisis, an end-user wants his/her Data (and/or OS) back -- some data recovery folks recommen...

How to Clone a Hard Drive With Bad Sectors Using ddrescue

Have learned new things, great post! A question: some data recovery software claim that they can read and extract data from bad sectors. Is that true? I read elsewhere an article concerning Spinrite [and other similar products] should not be used for data recovery, such are not data recovery utilit...

How to Clone a Hard Drive With Bad Sectors Using ddrescue

Believe me, an end-user does not always remember the drive letters have been shuffled es...
