So I ended up getting one in case anybody else was wondering about this. Got a super good deal, but entry-level tabletop models are around $100 USD. It *is* very messy, you'll probably want a large berth for it so you can sweep around it. I think it works for our workflow but it may not work for you...

I have been thinking about getting a drill press for the shop to drill holes into drives before sending them to the recycling facility. Have any of you done this? Should any tabletop drill press be able to do this or do I need to get a particularly high HP or special type of drill bit? Any help appr...

Same revision, I tried several different boards to the same result. One test was on a regular WD Passport 4TB, the other was on a G-DRIVE (rebranded WD Passport). Who knows why some work and some don't, I'll definitely keep trying and researching though.
