Help! My mouse is double-clicking on single presses

I treated myself to a high-end gaming mouse for my birthday last year, specifically for playing FPS games. It's been great until this week. Now, about 20% of the time I single-tap to shoot, it registers a double-click. It's ruining my accuracy and causing accidental file opening on my desktop. I’ve tried blowing compressed air under the buttons. Is this a switch failure? Do I need to learn to solder to fix this, or is there a software trick I'm missing?

Before you open it up and void your warranty, check the device settings in the software suite. Sometimes increasing the "debounce time" by a few milliseconds can solve the issue. It essentially tells the mouse to ignore the second signal if it happens too quickly after the first one. It’s a band-aid, but it works.

I went through this exact scenario with my BlackWidow keyboard a few months ago, where the 'W' key started chattering. It made games impossible because my character would stutter-step constantly. Since I'm terrible with electronics repair, I decided to check if it was still covered under the manufacturer's warranty rather than attempting a DIY fix. It took me a while to navigate their support page because the chatbot kept redirecting me to articles. I eventually located the razer customer service phone number to confirm if my specific serial number was eligible for a swap. Once they confirmed the warranty status, I just sent it in. The replacement unit hasn't had any repeating key issues so far.
