Platter swap tool/technics

Tue Jan 02, 2018 4:52 pm

Hi Guys

What do you use for platter swap?
I have the old "SD tools", 2,5" and 3,5", but they seem shaky..
What do you use/recommend? The tape solution?
Thanks

I think most people don't want to say it, but probably this in most cases. I've never liked how any platter tools worked compared to some good 'ol aluminum foil tape. But, honestly it seems like I only ever need to platter swap about once or twice per year.

So the tape seems to be the best solution, right?
I might have some Toshibas here that need platter transfer, so I have to train the technique.

Are they older Toshibas, and can you spin the platters at all? I may have a better solution for you.
