Hi

I got this old PATA disk and it seams that heads are bad (constant click and checked when open heads goes constantly from ramp and back). Can someone give me which disk match to this one with heads please?

Thanks

Toshiba drives are generally pretty easy to match for heads. Often you can get away with just matching the model, but if you post a picture of the label we can tell you other things that'd be good to try matching.

Hi

Sorry for my bad English and seems funny as I explain.
Here is the label of disk : https://imgur.com/XzZPNgY
So I mean is there any compatible disk not just same 40GB maybe 60, 80GB just in case I can find same?
Also which tools (combs) you used to transfer heads for this hdd ?

For heads matching, you might want to go with a MK8025GAS. It'll probably have extra heads, but that's OK. You'll want one with code HDD2188 _ ZK01 _ (don't worry about the E or S too much).

I know yours is code HDD2190 but that's the code for the 40Gb version not the 80Gb version. If you do buy another 40Gb one you may find that you're missing heads. But the 80Gb should have all heads. Here's one that's nice and cheap: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toshiba-MK8025 ... SwjyVTz-qh

Some tools that work on a brand can be compatible with other brand. Just test before to see if they fit or not.

Does the drive have a parking ramp? I haven't seen one of these in a while so I can't remember.
