I have a ton of DM donors in house right now so I REALLY don't want to order a VX drive to replace head 2. I have everything imaged except for that head. Anyone know if I can use DM heads on a VX drive? If not I'll order the dumb donor, but otherwise I'd love to use the stock that I have.
I got the full set a couple years ago and I've loved it. It was between ER and hdd surgery (a difference of several thousand dollars) and I went with ER.
I only get sad when I have a drive that doesn't match and have to use cut up sudafed medicine blister packs instead.
Yes, making a bin image with DDI FE. When I plug the drive in, it can't see the bin file at all. I have to look at it with r-studio or something like it so get the image out usually.
Bah, I hate that.
Anyways, Paladin from Sumeri Forensics is a good bootable forensic imager. Good for PC and Mac. gotta be quick on the draw though with some bootup menus :D

I know I'm late to the party. But how'd it go? I have tons of tips for you depending on the state of the drive. You're likely done already, but I'm just wondering.
Here is the solution with the Toshiba adapter. I don't know if this will be of any help to anyone. Make sure that the drive is face up in this case.

Trying to transfer a ROM to this board. It has a U12 chip but when I connect to it via the COM port I get this result:

You're saying Model and capacity don't matter. But I'm guessing that family still matters?
EDIT: I'm asking if anyone has tried a matching ROM F/W version from a different family.
