I can no longer use my R-Studio standalone license

Tue May 07, 2019 10:57 am

Hi Guys,
I don't know if it happened to you too, but I can no longer use my standalone license (or product for personal and business use) that I used for several years.

I wrote to sales support and they told me that I have to go to the technical package ($ 899). There is a 30% discount, but always $ 630.

I noticed that this happened after buying DDI.

Have you been forced to move to a technical package?

Jojo

I was never forced to move the the technician license because I'm honest enough to have bought it in the first place. I imagine the same goes with the rest of the data recovery professionals.

Deepspar and R-TT have a working relationship. So your purchase of DDI made clear that you're offering paid data recovery services. Time to pay the piper and buy the license you actually should have.

Jared I knew that DDI and R-TT had an relationship but I didn't think it was so morbid.

Maybe they lost a customer, at least temporarily. Though that SW was part of my arsenal it was certainly not the best...on the contrary.
Lucky were those who had bought DDI before the fateful relationship, like Luke.

However Jared, even if for another reason, you were a little bit angry too about the purchase of the technical package :) do-not-update-r-studio-debian-t1057.html?hilit=technician%20package#p3341

Anyway thanks for the confirmation.

Maybe I had misunderstood...sorry. So who has no DDI and only PC3K has a technical package?

It seemed to me that I understood in another forum that not everyone has the technical license, but maybe I will be wrong. In fact right now I saw that other guys had the license since 2013 or 2012.

It seems like I'm the classic "white fly".

I'm not clear on what you are saying here. I have been using DDI a lot longer than I have R-Studio. I also have several PC3K systems, yet still have the R-Studio Tech licence. I also have the R-Explorer tech license (soon to switch back to the UFS version) and the ReclaiMe tech license.

With the R-Studio license, it is a bit pricey off the top, but the annual updates and support fee is quite low and very reasonable, in my opinion.

I was mad that the current build at that time didn't work in certain builds of Linux and they refused to send me an older version to use. Not about paying for the intended licensing I'm using it for.

Sorry for delay of reply guys.

Ok..I have always purchased the Pro version or higher than the standard (UFS, Reclaime Ultimate, DMDE, WinHex Specialist…etc) thinking that rightly it had best and more features than standard. Some SW doesn’t have Technical license but commercial.

Regarding R-Studio I was surprised by their message and the cost of the technical license. I will make evaluations considering the discount and which it can be used in multiple platforms.

UFS Explorer Pro Tech License - €599.95
R-Studio Pro Tech License - $899
ReclaimMe Pro - $799

WinHex depends on how many systems you might need to run the program at a single point in time....and the program only works for a year.
DMDE is cheap, that is for sure. I don't like it, but for those who want to offer $100 data recovery, it is probably a viable option.

It still works after a year, you just can't do updates or ever find the old version you bought online again. But, if you keep your original installer download, your key will still continue to work with it.
