How to read ROM on certain Fujitsu models

Tue Aug 23, 2016 11:25 am

I haven't spent very much time working on Fujitsu drives as they are pretty scarce these days, so please excuse me if this is a noob question. I see that PC-3000 has the feature to read/write ROM on many of these models, but it doesn't work even on perfectly healthy drives. Just out of sheer curiosity, is it actually possible to read and write these ROM codes? Or is the feature just a vestigial menu option that's never worked?

Just to be clear, I'm talking about the later models that don't have a Kernel mode utility available. The ones that report "Error reading HDD memory" when you try reading the ROM.
