[post]12895[/post] So I guess this confirms the suspicions that the GUI version of ddrescue is not as good as the command line version. Glad I never switched to the GUI one.
Well, yes and no. Upon even further inspection, the ddresuce 1.23 terminal output is actually from the GUI program. So it can show the terminal output, along with the other output. It is simply a front end to make ddrescue easy to use for the novice. It would obviously be more helpful to have a better output that made it more understandable. I have never used it, so I don't know what it can and can't display.

To be fair, if you don't know how to understand the hddsuperclone screen, one may not notice the non-trimmed or non-scrapped values as being read errors if you don't know what you are looking for. But that is why I color coded them.
That's for you

As stated in an earlier post, make sure you try version 2.1.6 on the drive(s) that it did not work on previously. It has a couple fixes. I would like to know if one of them resolved the issue.

I'll do that once I'll finish the clone

Forgot to mention, the drive was dropped and was clicking before, manged to fix the clicking and it was detected and working. Just not possible to copy

Heh heh, I wonder how long that ddrescue cloning will take to finish. The GUI shows just over an hour remaining (it is using the average rate for the whole recovery). Ddrescue indicates 5 hours 21 days, not sure how that is calculated these days. I bet it will be at least 10+ days.

Well it is what it is. When u don't have pro tools it's a problem.
I can abort the scan the partition should be mounted but I want to give the customer as much data as possible.
Since I started to use your ISO never needed to use ddrescue. The best data recovery cloner.
I really needed and wanted to buy basic tool like rapidspar but the problem is it'll not work with USB drive and most of the drives are WD passport USB, your tool solved 70% of my work. This is the best free data recovery ISO ever built. I'm grateful for that

I am not saying that hddsuperclone could/would do any better in this case. I am just expressing my opinion about the remaining time. The remaining time is something that is very difficult if not impossible to predict. I am just giving my opinion on the the remaining time as I see it.

It would of done better. I've used it many times. Never used it to clone from usb. Thats the first time I used cloning from usb.

If I reboot the system I can no longer use the log file. I tried it many times always received same error. If I use the log file without rebooting it works
Am I doing something wrong or it's a bug? I'm saving the file in usb and use live iso

A reboot should not make any difference. The only thing would be choosing the same source drive for that log, as one of the checks is making sure the drive size is the same as in the log.

There is a terminal window that is opened when running hddsuperclone, please post the output from that. It will have more information about the logfile errors.

I uploaded 2 files with error. You can try it in your tool. I have more if you want
