I just want to warn anyone using the new feature of PC-3000 to check for heads donors, the preamp vendor / rev isn't actually read if you're only able to read from the PCB.
Here's a picture of two reads from the same good drive (one attached to HDA and one just PCB alone):
So just beware that if the heads are totally toast, you're not actually getting the preamp version, it's just putting zeros there for the fun of it.
