G-List and P-List

G2P shift LBA adresses. So all address would change. Some files would gone. But some files still alive unless not shifted inside that file.
Folder tree and file adresses ( MFT I guess ) would change. So need to recover from RAW data and good files could get according to extensions.

Not an interesting situation. It's like a partial recover when blocking a bad head and recovering from good heads. Kinda same situation

I think this is mainly used by drive refurbishers but I'm curious to hear if there's other uses for it.
I know what both are etc. but for the purpose of data recovery, I can't get my head around the need for interfering with them.
For example: moving the G-list into the P-list, serves what benefit ?

I don't think it's ever used for data recovery. I believe that's only for refurbishing because the P-List is generally capable of storing more entries than the g-list.

Ive certainly never used it for data recovery. In DR it's more likely you'd be just clearing the G-list (if it's corrupt) to allow the drive to finish initialization.
