Erasing Partition

Thu Oct 12, 2017 3:18 pm

Hey guys!

Was just wondering, if I have an HDD which is divided into 2 partitions and I use Eraser to erase one of these partitions, is there any chance that some of the data that was on that partition could be recovered through the second partition?

Thanks in advance!

If it does several erase passes, that area will not be recoverable.

Even if it does just one complete pass of overwrite, it will be unrecoverable. A zero fill is all you need. Just don't think that a format operation which takes only a few seconds will do that. Overwriting the data will take hours in most cases.
