Data lost after update windows 10

hi there.. i think i lost all the data on desktop because of the last update that took place today

It's rare that a Win 10 update would erase your files. Unless you did a fresh install using boot media. Check the size of data on the drive. Perhaps it just moved your data to a "Windows.old" folder.

Could it have possibly created a new user account due to an issue with the old one? If so, your data could be in another user profile within the Users folder.
