Curious Toshiba case

Hey guys

Today I was working on a TOSHIBA MQ01ABF050, that was not reading well from head 1. I read everything I could from head 0, and some parts from head 1 (very few sectors and unfortunately all without data).

After that I swapped heads with a donor, and it stopped ID, but no funny noises. Dang, maybe heads not compatible, or severe damage on SA... But then I put the patient heads into donor and tested: working fine (both of them...) WTF????

So, I detached PCB from HDA, waited a few minutes until it gets RDY, attach PCB, calibrated the drive and now both heads are reading (imaging the rest of the Head 1)
Some yellow areas for now, but nothing serious I think...

Nice surprise! Could it be that removing then reinstalling the heads has improved their readability. That's what I have found many times when practicing head swaps. Before and after scans with HDDScan showed the difference.
