How to CLone only Unused space with deleted file for later recovery experiment
Any Software has this function ?
its good idea ? ,empty space is smaller

Unless you have access to professional data recovery equipment, your best bet is probably to just clone the full drive.

As Bankole said, PC-3000 Data Extractor software can definitely do that but it's quite an investment $$$ if you're not starting up a data recovery lab.

I know some data recovery software such as R-Explorer and DataRescue 4/5 can scan just the unused space, but I'm not sure of any cheap/free software for cloning just the unallocated space.

You're right, I guess I never tried out that "gather free space" option after you open a logical volume on WinHex. I stand corrected.

I probably should spend more time playing around with all the features of WinHex. I mostly just use it when I need to do a lot of searching in a RAW data stream.
