Chip-on HDD Flash Programmer Smart

Tue Sep 03, 2019 4:16 am

Chip-on HDD Flash Programmer Smart is one innovative and customized hard drive ROM chip reader from Dolphin Data Lab, it helps users to read ROM from ROM chip directly while the ROM is still on the PCB without soldering the ROM chip off.

For traditional flash program, users need to solder the rom chip off the PCB, put the ROM chip to the chip holder and then users can read and write the ROM to chip.

With this innovative pin reader, users can simply connect the reading pins to the ROM chip pins and then users can read and write the ROM at high speed. Users don’t need to solder the ROM chip at all. Users can save a lot of time on soldering and at the same time, users can protect the chip maximally.

Some users already tested this program, it works super easy and extremely fast, they are very happy with it. If you are interest in it, pls feel free to contact with us for more information. [email protected]

Cool! How much is it? Will it work with both voltage ROM chip types?

I've asked on several locations without answer. How is this any better than the TL866II PRO? Does it resolve issues I've had with my older TL866 programmer?

1. sometimes ROM chip pulls off (possibly breaking a leg) if solder is old
2. most boards pull power away from the ROM, making it not work
3. as Jared said, some ROMs require different voltages to read

Hi Jared,

Thanks for your questions.

There are 3 types chip voltage: 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V. All this 3 types can be supported and detected automatically in this smart programmer.

The price for this newly released programmer is USD150. It includes USB cable, programmer hardware console, pin reader, chip holders.

Any other question, pls feel free to let us know. Thank you!

Hi Luke

Thanks for your questions. Compared with TL866II pro, I think there are 3 major advantages:
1. No risk for damage ROM chip. No matter how good skill you have for solder, there may be some risk for damage ROM chip, we can not say 100% safe, right?
2. Save time and improve work efficiency. Since we do not need to solder the chip, just connect the reading pins to the ROM chip pins and then users can read and write the ROM at high speed, it can help us improve our work efficiency.
3. More chips supported: more new chip models are supported for read and write.

Thanks again!

Tina

You haven't had any issues with the ROM breaking off the board yet? It doesn't happen very often, but it need only happen once, which was enough for me.
